Another feature is supposed to be GPS. However, this feature was not yet implemented in the software due to my early version.

At night in low light conditions, the Keen, like many other cameras from well-known manufacturers, has problems with moving objects. This presents itself as blurring ("ghosting") and occurs especially when using the IR LEDs. To avoid this, the lightning of the monitored area can be improved by e. g. external spotlights.

The Reolink Keen is a 2K camera. It records video at a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels (1440p) with a frame rate (FPS) of 15. The camera can be powered by either a battery or solar energy, offering flexibility in terms of power sources. Additionally, it supports a mobile network connection, specifically 4G mobile network generation, enabling users to remotely access the camera's feed and recordings. In addition, the KEEN Ranger PT trail camera boasts 4MP super HD image quality to capture every detail vividly day and night.

In our experience, the trigger speeds can vary depending on the size of the animal, and are slower than many high-end trail cameras - though still fast enough to detect reliably. Night recordings are illuminated using no-glow LEDs which are invisible to humans, minimising the risk of detection. It has no-glow LEDs with a flash range of 33ft. Before the first use, I charged the camera to 100%. It was then used with a solar panel. During my testing period, I had to charge the camera once via the micro USB port in the home power supply. This was due to ongoing frequent use and weak sunny days. However, trail cams can also be used for simple observation. If you think there might be bears in your woods, how cool would it be to get a picture? The next feature is the invisible IR-LEDs, which neither humans nor much of the wildlife can detect. I was thus able to see animals moving around my property undetected. This has presented me with fascinating videos and impressions of foxes, martens, hedgehogs and squirrels. Without this camera, I would have been unaware of what was happening on my property at night. The KEEN Ranger PT comes with a solar power, so you can keep the internal battery charged when its mounted in the field. This solar panel has a 4m cable so it can be mounted some distance from the camera, and if there is very poor light in the area the camera can last several weeks on a full charge - though this is variable depending on how active the camera is.Go PT Plus needs a SIM card for a network connection. You may refer to Choose Supported SIM card Carrier to find the right SIM card for your camera. To use the KEEN camera you will need an activated SIM card (nano). Any SIM card under the O2, EE and Vodafone networks will work. Our recommendation is an EE data plan SIM, which are free to acquire - see here - you would need to activate and top the SIM up to begin using it. After thats done, pop it into the Keen Ranger and follow the instructions on the Reolink app. It features a 4MP 1/3" CMOS Sensor which allows the camera to capture high definition videos at 2K resolution ( 2560 x 1440). The resolution of the livefeed does vary depending on the quality of the connection - a stronger signal means better quality.

A good quality trail camera has any number of applications. Most people use them for hunting. You can set them up on game trails, and get a sense for how and where the animals are moving. For example, when a person moves straight toward the camera (shown below), the PIR motion sensor will be less sensitive to the movement. It also has a time-lapse mode which is great for capturing changes in the environment over a particular season.
